First Presbyterian Church of Troy welcomes you!
What you will find here are people like yourself, seekers who want to grow in their faith and relationship with God. We invite you to make friends here and to find ways to share your own God-given gifts and talents.
We want to help you grow in your spiritual life. Here you will learn how to love God with an open heart, to love your neighbor as yourself, and to be open to Christ’s ministry of care and compassion as we serve together in love.
The Presbyterian Church (USA) is one of the oldest denominations, leading back to the Reformation of Protestant Churches in Europe. Several of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Presbyterian. We have a long history as people who “are reformed and always reforming.” We work to help communities today through justice and peacemaking efforts.
Presbyterians, like other Protestants, believe that people are accepted by God based on their faith in God, and each person is personally involved in his or her own spiritual relationship with God.
The Presbyterian form of representative governance at all levels was the model for the representative government at all levels in the United States.
The people-focused theology and representative form of governance have helped the Presbyterian Church grow in areas of the world where Christianity is a new religion.
The people-focused ministry and emphasis on strengthening faith through friendships will make this the church you will cherish for years to come.
We are looking forward to ministering with you in this diverse community.
