Fellowship
ÿÿÿ
Psalm 55:14 'We who had sweet fellowship together walked in the house of God in the throng.' (NAS)
The First Presbyterian Church of Troy has many golden opportunities to find joy in the fellowship with others, while sharing our Faith and balancing our lives.
Every Sunday following Worship and Sunday School, we invite you to join us for our 'Fellowship Time' - to meet together, unwind, and (as most of us love to do,) enjoy coffee, tea, and baked goods!

ÿ FPCT Women's Group The FPCT Women's Group, the 'Holy Chix,' will be meeting at 1:00 p.m. one Saturday each month to join together for discussions, activites, and fun. The following dates are planned: February 13th, March 13th, April 17th, and May 15th. Please contact the church administrator for more information. No reservation needed - please join us!
ÿ World Religions Supper Club On Saturday, February 6th at 6:00 p.m. please join us for fellowship, food and a discussion of Mormonism - the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the religions of the world. Please contact the church administrator for more details on these gatherings which are held in member's homes.
ÿ Tailgate Party Our first tailgate party was held on Sunday, November 1st when members and visitors joined together for fellowship, fun and food! Our ministry groups 'show cased' the opportunites at FPCT for youth activites, bible study, mission and fellowship in our church. Everyone is now looking forward to our second tailgate party scheduled for September 26, 2010!
ÿG.E.M.S. God's Elegant Mature Servants Meets the last Thursday of each month (except for summer,) to share lunch together, and enjoy a speaker or program of interest. Various programs have included representatives from Presbyterian Village, the Detroit Zoo, and performances by the Rochester Street Singers and the Troy Mouth Organ Grinders. G.E.M.S. has also had talks on 'A History of Music from the 30s, 40s and 50s,' and 'Eat healthy, Be healthy' facilitated by local groups. Other events included presentations on Ireland and Scotland, a short seminar on 'the brain and wellness,' and a curator guided program on our Troy Museum and Historical Village.
Please join us at 12:00 noon, February 25th for lunch and program, 'From Spring Creek Township, Kansas to Michigan,' presented by FPCT member, Les, describing his journey from growing up in Kansas to his life in Michigan. Then, on March 25th G.E.M.S. will host a 'Bingo Party!' All are invited to attend.
Please see the FPCT calendar for more details.

Small Groups
In keeping with the Mission Statement of Spiritual Growth, The FPCT has small groups in place where people share the Holy Spirit in their lives, while experiencing an activity to fellowship with each other.
ÿExercise for Healthy Living Back by request! Our fifth consecutive session will begin on March 9th. This is an exercise class for adults, led by a certified group exercise instructor (The Arthritis Foundation,) held in FPCT Fellowship Hall. Members have shared examples of how their daily lives have been improved as a result of taking these classes!
Sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. at a cost of $4 per session for the 16 sessions. You may register for one day a week, or for both days, or may come as a drop-in without a reservation. The charge for a drop-in session is $6. We will work on increasing strength and balance for daily activities, with NO floor exercises! See the FPCT calendar, or call the Church for more information.
ÿBook Club: Meets once a month to review various books, chosen by the consensus of participants in the previous class. The next meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24th to discuss 'The Christmas Sweater,' authored by Glenn Beck. You need not register for the Book Club - please come on the scheduled date - we would enjoy your participation!
ÿHands-on Ministry: If you would like to get involved in this small group ministry, there are opportunities at FPCT to do so. During the year, this volunteer group visits places in need of assistance, to prepare and serve meals, pack up canned goods, and share a helping hand.
ÿMetro Facets: Car pooling for day trips to various sites across SE Michigan. These trips include time for lunch in the visited area. Recent visits were to the Detroit Historical Museum, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Renaissance Center, and the Pewabic Pottery facility.
ÿMovie Night: One Saturday a month the FPCT shows a movie and shares a discussion, related to a topic interesting to both youth and adults. This type of media event helps to enrich our understanding of life's experiences and how challenges we face foster our understanding of spirituality. Beverages and snacks are offered. Recent movies were: 'Amazing Grace,' 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,' 'The Passion of Sister Rose,' and 'Facing the Giants.'
*Please check the Church Calendar for dates for these events.
