Detroit and Chicago bound!

July 18 - Youth Sunday

August 5 - Youth Group 7-8:30

August 26 Movie Night 6-9

The First Presbyterian Church of Troy’s Youth groups desire to create an environment for students to encounter God.  In this encounter we want students to CONNECT with God and other students, GROW into and up in faith, understand and attack their MISSION, and LEAD others to do likewise.

Monday, March 1st the Senior High Youth Group will meet at 6:00 p.m. for dinner at the American Pie Pizza Buffet, located at 13440 22 Mile Road in Shelby Twp.  Please come join us!

Students who are in 6th - 12th
grades are welcome to come to our Monday Youth Groups.  These meetings include Fellowship, Worship with song and music, Discipleship and Ministry through lessons and teachings from the Bible and about Jesus.

One of our recent a four-week series was called “Searching for Answers.”  Some of the topics we examined were, “Why I believe in God,”  “Suffering & Evil,” and “Is the Bible reliable?”

Our teaching and lessons are very important, but we balance everything with our Evangelism and Ministry through mission trips and other events.

Through these activities and Mission trips we renew relationships:  Our relationship with God and ourselves - our relationship with each other.

˙FPCT Youth Mission:

This year, our Youth Group tavelled to Grand Rapids, Michigan for their Mission Work Camp.  Working side-by-side with other youth mission groups, they helped area families do home repair, painting, and maintenance.  The work and fun in sharing this experience will stay with them forever!

The FPCT youth group reached their Christmas 2008 mission goal of filling 182 pairs of socks with health and beauty products for the Ft. Street Presbyterian Church shelter.

Thank you for all your donations.  Your generosity helped many more people have a merrier and blessed Christmas.

The following poem was written in honor of a former Youth Director's dedication to the FPCT, the youth of the church, and service to mission.  It reflects how we can choose to do good things for others.  Kindness enriches all lives - whether those receiving, or those giving.

Each Life Affects Another's

We may not always realize that everything we do,

Affects not only our lives, but touches others too.

A single happy smile can always brighten up the day

for anyone who happens to be passing by our way.

And a little bit of thoughtfulness that shows someone we care,

creates a ray of sunshine for all of us to share.

Yes, every time we offer someone a helping hand,

Every time we show a friend we care and understand,

Every time we have a kind and gentle word to give,

We help someone find beauty in this precious life we live.

For happiness brings happiness, and loving ways bring love,

And giving is the treasure that contentment is made of.
