Rev. Judi McMillan Christensen came to us in November of 2008. She grew up in Virginia and attended James Madison University where she majored in art. Her campus minister was a great influence in her calling and she has a special place in her heart for trail-blazers like campus ministers.

After college, she attended Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (class of 1998). She worked in a variety of field education placements from First Presbyterian in Jeffersonville, IN to a local nursing home as well as a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Luther Luckett Correctional Facility. All of these placements deepened her sense of call as well as helping her to develop pastoral care skills. She has served as a campus minister (University of Arkansas), a co-pastor (Gothenburg, NE) an Associate Pastor (First Congregationa, Ann Arbor) and an Interim Associate Pastor (First Presbyterian, Royal Oak, MI). This is her first solo call.

Pastor Judi is married to Scott Christensen. Between them, they have four children. Being a blended family is always a work in progress and they are learning like many other families how to grow and support one another as parents and step-parents.

Judi loves to preach, teach and build community through creative seasonal church offerings and worship services. Her art training and pastoral role often are combined in creative ways during worship. Drama, art, music and other interests such as cycling and weight training keep Pastor Judi energized for ministry.

Come and visit us and get to know our pastor.
