Rev. Judith McMillan Christensen was called to serve November 15, 2008 at The First Presbyterian Church in Troy, having earned her degree in
ministry from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She grew up in Virginia and has family all over the United States.
Pastor Judi is married to Scott Christensen. They have a blended family with Judi's children spending most of the time with them. McKayla and Caleb are active in the community and the church. Scott's children, Tim and Kelly, visit about every other weekend, and have been warmly welcomed here.
Judi's passions include preaching, growing fellowship among youth and adults, and teaching others to love and pray the scriptures. Lectio Divina is a wonderful way to guide one's self to learn and grow in the Spirit. If you are interested in learning how 'simple questions asked' in a small group setting about a scripture text can enliven your faith, just ask!
Other not so 'churchy' interests, but ones which build up the soul: running, cycling, skiing, cooking with her family wonderful dishes from around the world, a weekly 'pull-up challenge' at the gym, anything artistic and listening to live music.
Pastors are all unique individuals, called by God, affirmed by the church, and sent in to active service. We are always learning, looking for ways to connect with our members, and teaching that we are all called by God in our baptisms with special gifts to serve. While some are chosen to be ordained, everyone is important in the Body of Christ. What gifts do you have to share?
Please join us for worship, service and fellowship. And remember, God is good!
